It is with the saddest of hearts that we announce the passing of Bonnie Jeanne Lauzon.
Bonnie was born on October 20th, 1956 in Westlock, Alberta to Russell (Ross) and Norma Young. At the age of 18, she married Ivan Lauzon. They were an entrepreneurial couple, starting numerous businesses in many different industries. They moved from Alberta to British Columbia in 2004, pursued quickly by their two children and their families. Always loving the temperate weather and beautiful setting of Florida, Bonnie and Ivan purchased a winter home there in 2007, splitting their time between two of the most beautiful places one could hope to live.
In February of 2017, Ivan was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer, and lost his battle with it in July.
Alone for the first time in her life, Bonnie took the time to deal with her grief, to find new passions and interests, and a renewed sense of independence.
In late 2018, she met Barry Walkiewicz and the two grew close very quickly. They shared a passion for travel, art and tennis, and for long walks on the beach. In December of 2019, Barry proposed to Bonnie and the two became engaged.
Bonnie passed on the evening of April 30th, 2020 at the home that she loved in Victoria, BC at the age of 63 from a sudden and unexpected brain aneurysm. She left in this world her daughter, Renee (Bob), her son, Michael (Pam) and her fiance, Barry. All will miss her infectious laugh and passion for life.
Due to the current circumstances, we hope to hold memorial services for any that wish to attend in both Victoria and Naples later this year.
